Nostalgia

So it`s the time of the year, started up a new modded world on my PC. I played for a few hours and the next day I wanted to try playing on an older version of the game for old times sake...1.4.7 to be exact.

My first impressions were just wow...this game used to be so simple back in the day, I spawned right next to a village and forgot that all the villagers wore the same outfits, how ancient the trading menus were, and the old buildings...my god the old village buildings.

Continuing on I started mining and then, the music played. For a moment I got deep into my thoughts, I was reminded of all the countless hours I poured into Minecraft back in the day, how I`d spend my summer nights staying up until 4 in the morning building my next project or gathering material, partying up with a few buddies on a world that lasted only a few days or just that single night...and then eventually never talking to them ever again because we all grew up and went on with our lives.

For that moment I felt sad, who would`ve thought a game made up of pixels and blocks would make a 25 year old want to start crying? This game was the foundation of my teenage years, and I`m so thankful I was able to experience it when Minecraft was in it`s prime. There will always be a part of me that wishes to press the reset button just to experience it for the first time again.
