Need advice on upgrading please
Im running 5800x X570x 850w PSU 32gb ram 1080ti evga FTW hybrid watercooled Gen4 m.2 nvme
Im only thinking about upgrading the graphics card. Over the past few years I've gone from a work from home PC 4790k with a 750ti slapped into it, to building a mix of used and new parts into what I have now. A few upgrades following paths of deals I found led me to a decent gaming PC for my daughter .5600 , rx6600 . Last year I went from gtx 960 to this used 1080ti. I was blown away that this card is a beast. Way better than her 6600. I just upgraded my monitor from 1080p 280hz to 1440p 144hz. I play a wide mix of games from Sim, story, survival, fps, strategy, cinematic .. Lol. I don't max the frames on newer games and not even some older AA games like GTA . The 1080ti I would probably give to the daughter or sell. She doesn't play any games I know of that would need more than 1080ti.
Just looking at bench marks I'm confused. It seems like going from 1080ti to a newer card and to get a good modern gain in frames and stability.. Maybe Ray tracing or AMD new features. I'm not dedicated to either but would be nice. Would something like a 3080 or ti ,(lots of used for good price)... . 3070 ti, 3090(if used deal is found),..... 4070 (maybe ti I see some used for a good price) It seems from benches on the amd side it would be 6750xt (too similar in bench to be worthy upgrade?)... Up to 6950xt (never see any used yet). 7600 doesn't seem like a worthy upgrade from what I have either unless it's a huge deal. The higher tier cards are out of budget. Would a used 3080/ti or 6800xt be my best upgrade, will I notice a great improvement in performance from what I have?.... Wait until the higher tier cards start getting sold off in a year? I don't struggle with my games I play, the odd stutter(when multitasking mainly) or glitching HDR are my only current problems....... Unless..... Sometimes when I'm watching videos (more so on my last 1080ti monitor) parts of the video will become pixelated or blurry while others are fine. Would this be the first signs of artifacting?? It's making me thing I need to upgrade sooner rather than later. Thank you to anyone that can help me make my mind up.. Lol
