Thoughts on the Military Base for a long term survival playthrough?

Wanted to see what people thought of the military base for a long survival game. I know it is out there so it makes loot runs hard but my plan was to use the Rosewood Fire station as a starting base to amass everything I need (canned goods, seeds, guns, ect). Once I get what I think is enough I would load up a large vehicle and trailer and head out there and look to set up with minimal loot runs after. I would have basement and well mods installed too. Haven't been out there so I was curious if it is packed full of zombs or if anyone had an experiences with it!
