Moving home with my cat

I have a 6yr old cat, I got him with an ex a year ago and I kept him when we split. I love this cat more than anything!! I have to move back with my parents as living on my own is just too expensive. Back at my parent’s we have a 7 yr old Great Dane. He is so chill and lazy now I don’t think he will be very interested past the first few times they meet….. Ive read about keeping them in separate rooms for the first bit and then slowly introducing them, and I plan on going to the vet soon to talk about this too. I guess I’m just wondering if something like this is traumatic for my cat? He’s used to being on his own but I always wonder if he’s lonely and this could be a good opportunity to bond with my dog since he’s so laid back. Any advise/ recommendations/ warnings ? Thanks !!!
