Not sure how to feel good about myself after disfiguring surgery
Medical system sucks, got a persuaded to do a surgery after my 21st birthday to remove this annoying bump hidden in my lip and he ended up leaving a huge hole to where I can't close my lip properly and one side of my lip looks mangled and extremely thin compared to the other side. I did a revision with someone else but it barely fixed anything because of the amount of lip I lost in the original surgery. I was told nothing more could be done and just to live with it
I went from someone decently attractive to a depressed guy with a weird/disabled looking face. I haven't felt good looking at myself in the mirror anymore for over a year because of it. Even when I feel confident in myself I see how weird I look in photos with one side of my lips looking like it was torn off and I'm depressed about it.
No the doctor who fucked me up can't be held liable. I really envy other people who can come home everyday and feel safe about themselves even with external issues. I'm scared to have to live in this body ever day and deal witth the emotional and physical discomfort of living.
I tried to talk to people about it but their advice boils down to, get over being ugly. It's hard when in my mind I'm still the same young happy guy but I look completely different. So hard.
