BT12 Gallantmon for game question

New player here, if my opponent has 1 security left and I swing with BT12 Gallant into security, trash the security with his effect, do I then win the game via attacking an empty security stack? Or does it have to be an empty stack when declaring the attack? Couldn't find a ruling for it. Cheers.
