Weekend trip to Door County, WI - looking for recommendations please!

Hey all, I'm looking to spend Labor Day weekend in Door County (visiting from Chicago). This would be the first time for me and my significant other. We're mostly looking to enjoy the outdoors but are open to new experiences (especially food). The only place that we're pretty set on checking out is Peninsula State Park because we see it listed on many different websites.

However, I'd just like to ask what your favorite points of interest are in Door County (including food!) What are the hidden gems and not-so-hidden gems that are absolute must-sees? We're open-minded so please don't hold back any suggestions, as I'd be happy to look into it!
