Using the updated app to call out

Got work today at 9am, tried to use the app yesterday to fill out the call out info but it said you could only call out the day of your shift (Which makes sense but still). So, used the app, used sick time, the request went through. Do I still have to call my store to officially call out or is that all we have to do now???
