Wrong Ram sticks?

Overclocking

Recently purchased a new PC. Got 2x32 RAM sticks (Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 RAM). I installed them enabled the overclocking and everything seemed to be okay. Then I started getting restarts and freezes during low loads.

I tried to undo the overclocking (disabled the feature from the Asus bios) and made the RAM back to the 4800 speed. The PC is now up for 2 days without any issues.

I checked the RAM version and it seems that there are 2 versions, one for Intel and one for AMD with the difference being the memory profiles.

  • Memory Profile for AMD: 6000MT/s 36-38-38 1.35V ( Part Number: KF560C36BBEK2-64 )
  • Memory Profile for Intel: 6000MT/s 40-40-40 1.35V ( Part Number: KF560C40BBK2-64 )

As you can see there are different. Should I contact the shop to change Ram or can I tinker with it in the bios?

Try updating your BIOS. Your RAM could just be unstable at those overclocked speeds you set it to.

Sadly, I did update to the latest bios 3 days ago.

What speed is the memory rated for?

6000MT/s

I should have asked that first. In that case I would try to return it and get new memory.

Contact the shop to get the correct one, you got nothing to lose. If they don't accept then you can try tinkering but I'd follow a thorough guide for that
