Question to launcher spammers. Why?
Is there another reason to blind players and deny XP to other people other than be a troll?

Melee here. Nuka launcher is my only range option. Conversely would you complain if you were a melee build and in an event everything dies before you can close the gap? What ever gun you're using, vats more. Your bullets will hit before their grenades.

I have a melee build character and I run a pepper shaker as a ranged option for tagging and crippling. A Nuka launcher is not your only option. I also run a heavy gun and a commando character and spammers are annoying when I play all 3.

Ok I should clarify. As an unarmed build explosives are my hybridization. Yea I could run a pepper shaker or something but I don't want to do terrible damage. And the pepper shaker does terrible damage even with a shotgun and heavy weapons build. And no. I'm not dropping adrenaline to pick up enforcer. If I need to cripple I have a heavy mod on an ogua gauntlet.

You don't need enforcer if you run twisted muscles. The crippling effect applies to guns as well.

You could, you know, pick a different ranged weapon and get the same effects. A basic handmade with an auto receiver will let you tag almost everything in an event without filling everyone's screen with blaring white noise.

Trust me, on console at at least, Nuka Spammers block out entire events no matter where you are. Moonshine Jamboree and Rad Rumble, for example, are also events with such tight spaces that anywhere anyone stands no matter build type, the spammers are blocking their view. Better hope you are a ranged VATS user in those cases because VATS is the only way to aim through the mess.

You just described events I don't use the launcher. If you refer back to a previous post. When I'm in an event that things are dying before I can close a gap is when I start using Nuka. Events like radiation rumble uranium fever and moonshine jamboree there are enough enemies and spawn points where I don't really have an issue. Events like prime cuts where enemies spawn out in the open 100ft away. Yeah. Nuka time. Events like scorched Earth or seismic activity. Everybody wants to get fixed in on the boss and nobody's worrying about the swarms of enemies on the ground. Nuka time.

I am having a real hard time tracking your logic here. You say you run a melee build but what you're describing is just screwing over other melee builds at events. You're literally denying other people XP and fun. I can't see what spamming a launcher at an event has to do with being melee.

I already told you I use The New Colossus and things start dying before I can reach them. If I run around an entire event like a chicken with a head cut off because everything dies before I can get to it then whats the point is it going to an event? I'm interpreting this post to read as "your melee so stay in your lane."

But u r kinda MVP during mutated events or d.ops with resilient enemies. I have a melee char and there is no need for Nuka Launcher. Just do your best or popcorn emoji the whole thing.

I know. Refer back to the other two times before I said I don't intend to just tag stuff. The whole "just tag stuff" mentality is basically just saying stay in your lane.

It's not stay in your lane. It's the community has found that this is the most beneficial way to do things for everyone trying to get XP at events like RR.

The community finds the best damage build is the bloodied commando. I'm not going to run a bloodied commando. I don't care what the community finds to be most beneficial. I already told you I don't use Nuka launcher at RR. I usually spend half the event being the only one who runs ore. I don't care about XP I don't care about tagging I care about having fun. I run a melee sapper because I find it enjoyable. When I can't hit stuff I don't find it enjoyable so instead of bitching about how people should let me get hits I take the proactive approach and get my kills by other means.
I don't use the nuka to spite. I know there are trolls who use explosives. I ran into a few people who just find a vantage point and spam the overkill on people when there's not event adds to kill. That's a troll. People having the audacity to use guns in the game doesn't make them a troll.

For melee I instead recommend a gatling gun with explosive bullets. It's faster, has more range, is ammo conservative and packs a good punch. Gatling gun with explosive bullets is my goto ranged weapon for tagging or killing things at range on my melee build. You can get by with it with just the Stabilised card (if you use pa that is) equipped. Slot in One Gun Army if you have space as well as that one is great for crippling wings.

Except for Eviction Notice. My AGL saved my butt, the scrubber, and the event, many times over.
Had one the other day where I swear that the other players couldn’t kill a fly. Had the mutants swarming all over the scrubber. Area explosions, splash damage, and group kills was the only option.
When there are a lot of players or a few experienced players then sure, my weapon choice changes. But not if you’re basically the only one holding the fort.

Brah, I spent like dozens of perk points to spec out into demolitions. I’m not going to stop blowing everything up just because you decided to be on the ground.

Dozens? There's like 8 perk points for demo. And you can use explosive guns. I have a 2 shot exp 50cal for rad rumble that hits the entire room. Or use my pepper shaker if I'm on my melee.

Yeah, but I had to level up 4 legendary specials so I can use heavy guns AND explosives! Now nothing stops me. I really enjoyed the .50 heavy but unfortunately I can only really carry explosives and energy gun ammo

Also there’s 11 perk points if you count Explosive Ordinance. In the STR tree. And do the grenadier and demo expert perks work on the legendary explosive effects??

Yes they do, so why not use legendary explosive heavy guns, then get your rocks off without making the event unplayable for everyone else

They do and if you use a Tesla rifle at RR you'll literally tag everything within a 10 mile radius as Tesla bounces a benefit from grenadier. Get yourself a quad and you'll get all the XP.

There are many ways to get XP including grenades, heavy guns, Tesla rifle, etc. Many of these cause bright flashes too.
As for blinding, that is an issue, but it’s the devs that needs to fix this. It’s not something that complaining to players will fix.
I do agree that an all out barrage that uses up 1000 grenades per event is overkill and really annoying. I’m not sure how you would stop it, though. These are the same players who will then go back to using mini-nukes, which are worse.
Some of us are much more surgical in their use. I use mine to get a hit and splash damage, then switch to a target in a different direction.
By the way, if you are a Melee user, that’s your choice. You will always be at a disadvantage to gunners, not just AGLs. The one exception are melee based mutated events.
PS: You can get a TS FFR Auto Grenade Launcher and it’s not much slower. Players were using this long before the Nuka Launcher came out.

One dude in a server I was in would show up to every event and just launch constant mini nukes or some nuka version.
It just blinded everyone for the entire duration of the event. Like constant launching. Every second. I couldn’t even look at the screen.
Once everyone found out who it was multiple people gathered around them just pissed off trying to get them to stop.
They were definitely trolling. I just blocked them hoping to never see them again.
Which brings me to ask a completely unrelated question that definitely has nothing to do with the story I just told..how do I destroy someone’s base if they have pacifist mode on?

Most players would just shrug it off. And those with Fallout 1st have enough junk to rebuild 1000 times over and not even notice.

Forgot to add that anyone spamming hundreds and hundreds of 40mm grenades means that there is a very high likely hood that they have the fallout 1st ammo box to store them. So they would have the scrap box as well.
Adding this in case someone reads my reply and says “not everyone has fallout 1st”. In this instance, they more than likely do.

It wasn’t 40mm grenades. It was a fat man or some version of it with mini nukes or some nuka version because the screen would turn blinding colors.
But I suppose it doesn’t make a difference whether it’s nukes or grenades.
But yeah it would still be funny to destroy their camp. Multiple times. They want to inconvenience everyone so maybe multiple people inconvenience them..just saying.

If you're on PC I can show you how to do this thing. While it's true most people can repair their camps easily it is also true people who ruin events often have fragile egos and it can be just straight up cathartic remodeling a trolls camp.

I use a 2-shot AGL at Moonshine Jamboree and Eviction Notice (only) and back it up with my non-explosive vamp Gatling gun.
Why? Both events have wide open outdoor spaces and objectives to defend. The AGL is very effective at tagging, and softening up the mobs so the other players can make the kills. I switch to the Gatling for anything close up or anything far away or anything that's getting a kill shot. I move around the event frequently and go where needed to keep mobs under control.
So, does this make me a troll by your definition?

And don’t forget about mutated events with reflective damage. The AGL is the only weapon, as far as I know, that it rarely triggers on.

Reflective mutated events are totally cool to go nuts with explosives. Everyone should have a decent launcher for these events.

I am very rarely at a Jamboree that needs heavy crowd control. That said if you aren't spamming the spawn points or dropping nades on top of melee builds that's totally fair IMO.

Explosive build is a hoot! I don't like the whiteout so instead of my Nuka Launcher or Fatman I run the Grand Finale. It's just a funny gun.
Fatman and Nuka Launcher are also fun guns to use. But the explosions visual effect is uncool. Because I am not only whiting out everyone else's screen. I am also blinding myself (and sometimes (often) blowing myself up). Grand Finale is better. It's not as powerful as the other two. But it doesn't white out the screen and it kills or tags most if not all the things. It also shoots fireworks and who doesn't love fireworks?
Untill Bethesda fixes the explosions visual effects my Fatman and Nuka Launcher stay stashed. Then again that does not seem to be the direction we're going in. Last patch's changes to Grenadier did not only increase the radius. It also made the explosions from explosive bullets really annoying. So now I blind myself with my quad explosive LMG. Which in my opinion is not an improvement.
Why do we spam things that go BOOM? Because it's a lot of fun.

I am never upset when I see a Grand Finale at an event. Fireworks are fun.

Grand Finale is such a fun toy, it was a staple on my explosive build I tried for a bit hoping pistols would be reworked, but alas... I would say my favorite builds are my Pistol, Explosive, and Melee builds... for some reason I am not a huge fan of PA and heavy guns.. no real reason, just meh to me :)

This isn't even a launchers problem anymore. Someone with a gauss shotgun or minigun can easily blind people by just firing in their direction and that's fairly easier to come across than a two-shot launcher.

The fact that they allow you to turn off things like muzzle flash and yet the gauss guns can create a literal super nova now is baffling.

It's a grenadier 3 issue, I used my vamp gauss mini at 1 and it was quite managable.

I wouldn’t care if I could turn other players effects off. It’s really annoying not being able to see because someone keeps shooting mini nukes 2 feet from me.

Greed and selfishness are probably the top 2 reasons, not wanting to share a single xp point with others, because leveling up from 3000 to 3001 gives such a massive advantage that you need to get to it asap.

I use the Overkill fatman sometimes during events, I am a melee build, most events I barely get any xp. When I use explosives to spam in events, I always try to join the lowest level casual team so that those team members will still get xp.
I mainly use the launchers when I am trying to xp grind, I do not understand why people get so upset over the explosive launchers personally. Most people use two shot explosive weapons, or a tesla rifle, and in my opinion, most of those people are bloodied builds, and do not think twice when they melt groups of enemies without letting anyone else get a shot in.
TLDR: To xp grind, its no different then bloodied builds who melt enemies, explosives just have a bad (unfair imo) reputation.
