Anyone know or have a good source for the Box Arts throughout the years?

Question

I'm trying to get WoW setup in Steam and I'm not so boring as to leave them blank on Steam

for the WoW box arts, you might want to check out the world of warcraft wiki or any online retail sites, they usually have images of the box art for different expansions and versions of the game.

physical copies owned by collectors might also be a good source. I love seeing all the different box arts too, they're like a trip down memory lane! Who knows, you might even stumble upon some cool limited edition ones. and just a heads-up, remember to resize the images properly so they fit steam's display. wouldn't want them looking all stretched and weird, right?

Problem is with the wiki is the .webp file and the box arts all being 3d renders instead of just it facing forward

.webp files and fancy 3d renders can be a bit of a pain. you might want to give wowhead a try, they usually have standard images.

if that still doesn't work, maybe check out ebay or amazon. people selling their old games often post pictures of the box art. it's not ideal, but could be a decent last resort.

alternatively, you can convert .webp to a more usable format like .jpg or .png. there's free converters online, but remember to check the quality after conversion, don't want to lose any details on those arts!

the solution might require a bit of fussing around, but it sure is worth it for those glorious box arts.

There is a site called SteamGridDB that has user created custom images exactly for this
