Another Team Build: Geth Squadron
Let's face it. The Geth race has some of the best characters in the game. The GI used to be basically the best class in the game. He's not quite so far above the rest of the classes anymore, but he's still top-tier. The engineer, while often un-appreciated, has both the strongest and the fastest-recharging Overload in the game, giving him unparalleled shield-stripping, stunning, and detonating abilities. The newest addition to the Geth squadron, the Trooper Soldier, can be built to be one of the tankiest characters in the game, and comes with the hands-down best fire primer in the game.
This team build will use a single Infiltrator, a single Engineer, and two Soldiers, but it can work just as well with one of the soldiers switching to Infiltrator. I just like to have two Soldiers because there are two main builds that the Troopers can use, and this team build has both of them present.
The Infiltrator This guy will be a standard Javelin GI. His job to do ludicrous amounts of damage by getting headshots with the Javelin and making the other teammates more effective with his Proximity mine. When the objective wave comes and it's a device objective, this guy is the best-equipped member of the team to take care of it, especially with the Duration evolution. Phasic Rounds are probably necessary if your Engineer takes Chain at Rank 6.
The Engineer Since 3/4 members of this team will be pretty squishy, the Engineer has to be able to spam his healing turret so that his teammates don't die. His overload is insanely useful since it's a very reliable, very spammable detonator that can set off several explosions with a single cast. Neural Shock is a must since his cooldowns are so insanely short that the recharge speed won't affect your gameplay. As for Rank 6, it's up to personal choice. The third jump deals piddly damage, but it still detonates. However, Shield damage is also useful. I'd recommend Chain at 6 if your soldiers both carry the Acolyte or if the Infiltrator has Phasic Rounds. Remember that you can detonate fire explosions from the Flamer evolution on your turret as long as you Overload while the turret is still flaming the target. His cooldowns are short enough that a strong weapon is advised. Personally, I like the Wraith, but the Harrier, GPS, Hurricane, and Hornet are all excellent weapons for him, and you can easily get away with any cooldown that's greater than 100%
The Tank This soldier skips out completely on Hunter Mode to maximize his passives and Fortification. Even without Hunter Mode, Flamer rips through armor and has a very short cooldown. My personal choice for him is the Acolyte, since it gives him a good, reliable stagger and makes up for Flamer's lack of decent shield damage. Also, with the recent reversion back to having the Acolyte be a charged weapon, you can start charging a shot, start your flamer, and release the shot mid-flame if you need the stagger or if a shielded target walks in front of you. The same goes for the GPS, which is another excellent option. Remember that even though you don't have Hunter Mode , the entire rest of your squad does, and can therefore easily help you spot enemies through walls.
The Squishy Soldier This Soldier uses Hunter Mode, and is therefore only a little bit tankier than the Engineer and the Infiltrator. However, he does more damage than the Tanky Soldier. I recommend a GPS on him because of the Charge mechanics and because of your Geth Weapon Damage boost.
Gameplay Stick together as a team, with the Soldiers at the front and the Infiltrator and Engineer at the back. When the round starts, rush the spawn, where the Soldiers will star flaming enemies while the Infiltrator debuffs and snipes. Once targets are on fire, the Engineer should be ready to detonate explosion after explosion. Overload takes care of shields while the Fire Explosions will destroy health and armor. The geth turret should generally be in the middle of the group, and can and should be spammed frequently if any member of the team is taking fire. If anyone goes down, fire off the turret, and the Tank or the Infiltrator should revive them. The idea is that there should always be someone up that either can cloak or has the shields to survive the incoming damage while reviving the downed teammate. Since Geth have extremely low health but decent shields, it's imperative that their shields get restored as soon as possible upon getting up with the Turret.
This team composition is excellent for any faction. Cerberus and Collectors without shields will panic when lit on fire, which will basically be any time the Soldiers are anywhere near them. Reapers lose out on (arguably) their most powerful ranged unit, the Ravager, since the troopers will not only shred through swarmers, but also melt the Ravager. The Acolyte is essential for dealing with Banshees and the whole collector faction. Keep in mind that Collectors take half damage from combos currently, so it's not a good idea to rely so much on fire explosions. In all honesty, this team is capable of doing U/U/P fairly easily.
Give it a go, everyone. The synergy that exists between the Geth classes is lore-fittingly awesome, and it has made for some of the most fun matches I've played in this game.
