Having trouble choosing a car. Can someone give their experiences?

Non Political

My dad wants to buy a new car since the current one is old and has issues. He shortlisted between the Swift and the Tiago.

Swift is pretty good but Tiago has much lower price and the interior and exterior design is very good.

However the only problem he has now is that he heard that tata cars have too much vibration cause of its 3 cylinder engine. Is this true? The salesman said that the recent models have upgraded engines which doesn't have these problems. Is this true?

Personally I also want the Tiago cause it's overall more safe. What do u guys say?

Bro I have driven Tiago and the performance is good. Pehle hoti thi problem with three cylinder engine but abb ni h.

I currently have Tata Punch which I bought in May this year. It is one of the best investment I have made, the interior is good and the quality is top notch.

Mere ek friend ne bhi Swift li thi uska bumper hi itna halka h gaadi toh choro hi. Tu Swift k bumper pr thoda pressure se haath rakega andar Ho jayega, compared to Punch itni solid gaadi h and 5/5 rating bhi h.

IMO Go with Tiago It's a really good car.

bro my family recently brought the nexon. We overlooked the engine because of 5 stars on global ncap. its engine has so much vibration lacks any kind of peppiness. No one likes to drive nexon at home. even the car which nexon was bought to replace(first gen dzire) is driver more right now even though it has been 2 years.

If safety is your concern, go for Tiago. If you want a better engine, Swift is far ahead.

I want a car which doesn't have vibrations. I don't need a massive pickup or 0-100 car. Just something which doesn't vibrate.

Have a 2013 Dzire, doesn't vibrate. The engine is great.

which variant you are buying that's depend on that

3 cyl or 4 cyl doesn’t really matter. It’s really from the manufacturer.

The only drawback I found while testing the tiago is the lack of good quality seating. They’re comfortable, but look like they’re made from a single piece of thermacol. Swift ka design ab bohot jyada unattractive ho gaya hai. Either get the tiago or wait to see how the new swift is going to be… which may be a while.

kya baat kare rahe ho bhai, 3 aur 4 cylinder me aasman jameen ka difference aa jata hai.

Vibration. Not performance. And no, the size of the cyl matters as well. How the company makes it differs.

For eg: Koenigsegg Gemera

Swift aur Tiago dono ko laat maro, Ignis test drive karo. Ignis me Tiago k price me Swift ka engine aa jayega. Aur since car is tall and small, it's so much easy to drive for elders.

bro I would suggest you to take a look at grand i10 nios. I believe i10 has scored more stars than swift in global ncap. It will be a safer car than swift but not as safe as tiago. It also has great engine.

Vibrations are there no doubt, petrol version are underpowered too as Naturally aspirated but keep in mind in world of compact SUVs you are buying a hatchback you are on indian roads you need as much security as possible.

With that all, go for tata for saftey, get punch or tiago, punch is better in terms of saftey and road presence.

About tata quality, i strictly advice you to get an external consultant to do a Pre delivery inspection (PDI). They take 3-4k for but its worth it for peace of mind( its almost compulsory for tata vehicles) they will insure your vehicle is showroom condition, a lot go behind in their godowns, accidents rusting and all. Also make sure that the dealer doesnt register the vehicle to your name before PDI.
