How can I tell if I (22f) am self-sabotaging or actually losing feelings for my partner (24m)?
I (22f) have been dating my boyfriend (24m) for a little over 2 years. Recently we moved in together and things have been going great. We’ve both been busy the past couple month or so, but have made it a point to schedule dates and quality time on the weekends. He’s loving, thoughtful, kind, patient- basically everything you would want in a healthy relationship. Here’s where I’m confused: Sometimes I find myself fantasizing about being single again. I wonder what it would be like to go to bars and flirt with strangers again. I still go out with my girlfriends, but whenever someone approaches me I get immediately uncomfortable and tell them I’m seeing someone. I would never, ever cheat or even come close to it- but that’s why I find myself thinking about what it would be like to feel “free” to let the flirting continue. This is my first healthy relationship and I’m trying so hard not to screw it up. Because of my past relationships and how I’ve been immature in the past, I worry that these thoughts are just self-sabotaging tendencies coming out because I don’t feel like I “deserve” a healthy, loving relationship like this. On the other hand, I also worry that I really do want to be single again and it would be super unfair to him to keep living together and staying together when I feel this way. I truly love him so much and I hate the thought of losing him because I’m a little bored. I was just wondering if anyone else has felt that same conflict and what they ended up doing about it. TIA.
