Rover claim for injury from boarding
Looking for advice on how to handle a situation.
I’m currently boarding a dog through Rover, this is my second time watching this dog. She is a large Great Pyrenees mix.
I discovered a small wound on my dog last night, he has very long hair so I didn’t notice it earlier and I’m not 100% sure when or how it happened. The dogs got into a little tiff earlier in the day over a bone - I separated them immediately and took the bone away. My best guess is it happened during this time.
I took my dog to urgent care today and he is being treated. The estimate is $730 (I live in a HCOL area and vets are $$$).
I feel really conflicted on what I should tell the owner and if I should ask for them to cover any or all of the vet bill. I’m also not super clear on how Rover insurance works and if it’s something I can submit a claim through them for. I do have my own pet insurance which will cover most of it once I hit the $200 deductible.
What would you do? Any experiences with Rover support would be appreciated.
