why does every song have to go “hard” in regards to rap flow/lyrics?

I keep seeing all these comments on Demons saying that the beat is good but her flow and lyrics were bad. I feel like everyone who keeps saying that and posting their little tik tok videos are proving her point; We hold her to high expectations and vilify her when it’s not what we expected and then it becomes a trend. It’s okay if a song isn’t your style, every single song an artist puts out isn’t going to please everyone. I think it’s so wrong to say she is making “bad” music simply because you personally don’t enjoy it. Normally when you don’t enjoy something, you just move on from it to something you do like. Why is there a constant need to remind Doja that she isn’t living up to our expectations of her? At the end of the day, she is a person and if she wants to make a song like Demons, why tf should she not? Because people think her lyrics are cringe? Why should our opinion dictate any shit that she does?
