Move out charges

For context, I’m in PA. I renewed my lease with the same apartment I stayed in last year but moved to a different unit. They added move out charges from my previous apartment to my portal and I was shocked to see it was close to $1000. I found out about this yesterday because I had gotten an email from the portal saying “delinquency notice” for the outstanding payment. Apparently my roommates had similar charges but emailed the property and got their charges reduced. I did the same and they didn’t reduce the charges for me. The itemized receipt shows these charges are for common areas for which the amount owed is equally divided between roommates.

I’m not sure what to do. My university’s student legal doesn’t have any openings until next week. Because of the delinquency notice should I pay it for now then work with student legal and hope I get some of my money back?
