To all those new to Mountain Biking

When you’re on the trails, ignore the minimum PSI rating on your tires. I have a cheap $700 hardtail that always struggled to keep up and constantly had to let other people pass me. I always attributed it to my cheap suspension fork always never soaking up the bumps which causes me to brake hard going downhill. I knew that you were supposed to have low tire pressures so I put it at 34/36 PSI to not stay too far from the rating found on my tires. After having a day where I was literally spinning out going up hill from dusty roots, I decided to finally experiment on trying a lower tire pressure. I tried 28/30 PSI and it was a whole new experience and so much more fun. Strava said that I was 15-20 percent faster and I was soaking up every single root and bump that I came across. It felt like I was black diamond skiing again and I’m gonna try 26/28 psi next time I hit the trails :)
