Romance Help!

I've been planning on Romancing Gale but I seem to be stuck at an impasse.

I've given him artifacts, I did an event where he taught me some magic (but I failed), and the when we fought our first group of enemies in Act 2 he essentially implied that "fighting got him in the mood and we should do something about it".

I have since completed Act 2 and have spoken to him constantly in hopes a new dialogue option will appear but nothing! Any help?
