In addition to my Steam Deck I decided recently to try out a retro handheld (35$ used), since I've never really had any of those. After some research i got this little time machine.
Surprisiingly, even in 2023 Anbernic RG280V is still the most balanced all-round good retro console with a great screen, decent battery life, unmatched built quality, comfortable controls and a perfect pocketable size! 8bit, 16bit, PS1 - this beast can handle it all!
I did consider getting MiyoMini, but inferior built quality was a dealbreaker for me since I wanted something what will last for years.
All in all, it's a perfect tiny machine for shorter (5-30 minutes) gaming sessions; but at times I played for a few hours without breaks - and it was perfectly fine!
Being mainly a PC and a Steam Deck player I'm surprised with myself, how much I love this little device. RetroGameCorps (thanks, man!) starting guide I used: https://retrogamecorps.com/2021/08/20...
In addition to ADAM image, you'll also need "retro rom set" and "retro bios" for all the emulated consoles in case you don't have your own retro game library.
Do you maybe know of any better similar sized handhelds to get? I was quite baffled that nothing better didn't came out in the last 2 years since RG280V's release.
