Do restorative conversations exist on Reddit? Has anyone had any success?

Say, I'm someone who falls into the (fictitious) group r/y , and I attempt to reach out to members of the (equally fictitious) r/ytotallyfuckedmeover.

It seems there is no interest at all. Opposing groups who blame each other appear to have a staggering amount of prejudicial hate, based purely on labels, rather than actual interaction. It seems not only impossible to bridge any differences, but it is actively discouraged, so any restorative effort that would benefit both sides seems completely impossible.

Perhaps even unwanted.

Any thoughts?
