I just got orders to Ft. Wainwright Alaska

What am I to expect? I'm E6 and I've never been. How is housing? How is flying there from the lower 48? Can we fly out in December easily enough for Christmas leave? Tell me all the greats and not so greats and what I can expect, please. I'll be working on the airfield
