99.9% certain now the original clip is playing back faster then the song was originally recorded
Something always sounded off about the clip Carl initially posted....definitely sound sped up, sort of chipmunky. but there was definitely something else that didn't sound right, and it took me a while to figure it out.
THE VIBRATO
In the original clip, the word "knows" is drawn out of with a little bit of natural vibrato on the vocals. If we measured it, the note is held out for about a third of a second and 3 cycles of vibrato are heard. Which averages out to 9Hz vibrato.
On average, vocalists' natural vibrato is often 4-6.5Hz based on the studies I've read. There are obviously exceptions but for the broadest variety, that's going to be the best number to reference.
In the speed adjusted version I made that adjusts based on the difference between the common sample rates, not only does it fall on a proper key and tonality (C# with Dorian tonality) but the vibrato of the lower vocalist is now 5.8Hz.

Perhaps something to also help with the search is search based on songs that are in C# Dorian (B Major key signature).
