AITA for getting colleague in trouble
I'll keep this brief. Had a new colleague start at work. I am a nurse and sometimes we have to do double up visits due to risk etc. I was asking for this within the team and my new colleague volunteered. However after very briefly reading the notes, this colleague decided, without knowing or having met the patient, that he wasn't safe to see at home. I disagreed and asked if we could discuss in our daily morning meeting. She then emailed my manager, without my knowledge, to tell them she didn't think it was safe and asked to not see him at home. I was very annoyed about this because I thought it was very disrespectful to me, basically saying i didn't know how to manage my own caseload. My manager following this made it really difficult for me to see the patient, and due to this I had to raise a formal complaint. The decision has now been put back into my hands but feel my colleagues have been off with me a bit. It's worth pointing out I was extremely upset about this at the time and others may have felt I overreacted. I have felt for some time unlistened to and disrespected at work that probably made my reaction worse. However I still feel I was justified to complain.
