Success story
After 13 years I think I’m finally free from opiate! At age 18 I got put on a methadone clinic after using dope for a few years. I spent about 6 years on methadone, dosed down and switched over to subs. April 2023 my doctors office closed out of no where and sent me a 30 day supply of 2mg strips for 2mgs a day. At that point I was only taking 1mg a days and feeling fine. Instead of finding a new doctor I took that last script and tapered down. Took me 6 months to taper from 1mg to .125mgs. I started skipping days at the end. By the time I hit 3 days without a dose I figured it was time to just stop. I have slept every night, not the greatest but better sleep I was getting than I was while tapering. Today is day 8 without a dose and my BM is solid, no hot or cold sweats, and i never missed a day of work. I also ended this journey with 4 whole 2mg strips left. This is doable. Exercise is huge, I’ve kept myself active and it’s something I plan to keep up. It was nice this morning not waking up and feeling like garbage. I know there is still a lot to deal with mentally over the next few months but it’s worth it. I feel better today than I have in more than 13 years.
THC has been a huge help with this process for me. Also keeping hydrated and vitamins. I did not use any type of pharmaceutical to get off.
