"Incompatible power source detected" Only charges if the laptop is off.

I use a HP pavilion gaming laptop it's been running very well but recently I have been having issues with charging it ever since I lost it. I have tried 2 different chargers one older and one newer and both have the same result it charges for a second and then says, "Incompatible power source detected" and doesn't charge anymore. I am not sure what voltage the newer one was because I forgot to check but the older one is 45W which is the recommended voltage for the model. I am starting to think that it isn't the chargers and is the laptop instead. Does anyone have a possible fix?
