I have the pixel 4a (not 5g), is my phone officially obsolete?

I love my phone. Its the perfect size and weight. Its also cheap enough that I'm completely comfortable going with no protection for the phone. I love the stock android experience.

Looks like everyone got an update recently, I checked and my last update was in Aug. Does this mean I have to upgrade now? How long realistically will my phone continue to be operational at its current smoothness and speed?

Sincerely dislike anything bigger. Money isnt the issue, but what can I get in the market with the dimensions of my 4a. Why oh why cant they do like a pixel 8 mini or something? Happy to pay the full price.
