Why does Reddit as a whole/in general get sensitive (and downvote you or discredit you) any time you mention the racism that happens on reddit, and the world in general?

It just seems like people get fragile any time you mention the racism you see. It also seems a lot of the time Redditors specifically love to downvote/hate someone that happens to mention "white" in race context. Why is this?
