In the UK you can use the Internet and voip services to call 999; in America you don't even need mobile phone service to call 911, however a lot of voip services can't be used for 911

You do need service to call 911 but data roaming is automatically on for 911 so it might seem like u have no signal but it’ll use whatever companies tower there is

I meant that you don't have to have like a mobile phone plan or even prepaid to call 911. Your phone probably does need to be able to connect to a cell tower, but i know every phone i've ever picked up displayed emergency call capabilities even when it didn't have an active plan/pre-paid.

They're probably just not explaining it correctly. The Wi-Fi is probably split into guest and main networks, and all they do is schedule the guest network to be offline at certain times. The main network is likely always active

Theres nothing valid about what they said. You dont need internet to call 911 and most schools will not need to. It also doesnt compare or relate to schools in UK at all, and there's no observation made.

Especially given the comical idea that UK police might've actually done something after getting there, while American cops just waited outside during an active shooter scenario at that elementary school
I mean even just taking the notion that we've normalized school shootings instead of confronting the fact that we Americans (including police) shouldn't be armed with firearms to this degree.

I regularly hit the 24hr hard cap for phone calls. I'm just an extremely social person and I have enough people that enjoy discussing random crap or debating for hours.
My work allows me to do this. I can work and engage in recreation at the same time.

Why not use a real communication app at that point? Phone call audio quality is awful and the noise suppression is even worse.
