Proposed rule change: Users under 18 may not reveal their age
Hi r/penissize,
On the Mod Team, we constantly are working to make this sub-reddit a safe and welcoming place for all. This includes teenagers, from ages 13-18 who may have questions about penis size they cannot ask elsewhere. Anyone aged below 13 is not allowed to use Reddit under Terms of Service.
However, we have become increasingly aware that threads where people reveal their age can attract a variety of inappropriate behaviour from a minority of users. While we naturally try to ban and remove anyone we find to be doing anything inappropriate, this can take place via DMs, which we have no visibility of. This can be upsetting for underage users, but moreover is often completely illegal.
In order to try to reduce the amount of such behaviour, we are proposing to implement a new rule change where anyone aged below 18 would not be allowed to publicly post their age. Anyone identifying themselves as being aged 13 to 17, or saying "I am under 18", would have their content removed, but would not be punished unless they continued to repeatedly post their age. Anyone aged above 18 is still welcome to state their exact age.
For users who have questions which they feel are age-specific, they may use general terms such as "teenager", i.e. "I am a teenager". However, almost all data we have on penis size is for adults, and consequently there are not many topics where knowing a person's exact age is necessary.
FAQs
Q: Can I post a history of my penis size at certain ages?
A: Yes, provided you do not identify your current age, if aged under 18. You are allowed to state "I was this size at age X", but if you are under 18, you may not say what your current age is.
Q: I am getting inappropriate messages from users on this sub. What can I do?
A: Please report the DM to central Reddit using the "Report" function within the message, and block the user. Then use the "Message the Mods" button in the sub to report it to the Mod Team, who will then ban that user from the sub.
Q: I have a question where I believe I need to state my exact age. What can I do?
A: Even for questions related to puberty, knowing someone's exact age is often not relevant given the wide age range when this can happen to different people. If you have a specific query which you're not sure about, please use the "Message the Mods" button.
If you have any other questions of feedback about this proposed rule change, please post them in the discussion below. Thank you!
