Post-Temple battles

So after encountering the Starborn, at least one guardian shows up at all the temples. What is your favorite strategy for dealing with them?

Each tower has two entrances, so I know you will always spawn outside in one of 2 places. So I mine both with three mines each. Then, as soon as I come out, I get my shotgun out and have antigravity ready. As soon as he spawns, I lift him and blast him 5-6 times(at least until I level up my weapon effects). If the blasts don't kill him 3/4 of the time, the fall will once gravity retakes effect.
