Brooklyn’s music career is lame

Discussion

I get the stories that involved music in the 80s and 90s, but it’s 2023 and both the music industry and the music management space have completely changed. Pop music’s center of gravity has completely shifted. There are hardly any real bands anymore. Nightclubs have fallen out of favor with younger generations. Music today is often made in isolation with the aid of technology and uploaded to TikTok or shared on social media where it might go viral. Traditional management has become less enticing and self management more common. So to me the budding music careers of Brooklynn, Eddie, Chase and Blaze, are a cringefest. Every storyline involving the “music industry” strikes me as awkward and outdated, especially when it comes to Brooklynn. For the life of me I don’t understand why GH keeps pushing her music career. As a young Quartermaine with a family infamous for its corporate and personal triumphs, tragedies, and enormous wealth why would she not be the ultimate social influencer of at least Port Charles with sway as far as at least Pine Valley, Llanview, and Corinth? I’m thinking a Soap version of a Kardashian or Charlie D’Amelio level influencing - something far more current and modern than the music manager of ‘Blaze’. And I mean, just the name ‘Blaze’... I don’t understand wasting a young legacy character of the preeminent PC family to such a dated concept. She just piddles around with her laptop and a half ass singer or two while she fat fingers a toy piano and wallows in self pity over the last guy who discarded her. What a bummer. What younger demo wants to watch that? Brooklynn should be dominating the social charts like a modern day Erica Kane reborn, connecting the dots back to and among the Q related companies, taking on the next adventure with a vibrant sometimes bitchy sense of stubborn optimism, building things up, crashing back down, and giving us someone to champion along the way. What do you think?
