I keep hearing advertisements about this website and it sounded like a good option for me. I answered a few questions and they denied me because they decided that I’m in a crisis?
I’m not currently in a crisis at all I’m actually feeling pretty good but I know I need therapy to maintain this. I answered their questions honestly and I get this: “Thank you for taking the time to share openly and honestly. We understand it takes a tremendous amount of courage to reach out and ask for help, and you've taken a brave first step by visiting BetterHelp.
Unfortunately, BetterHelp is not appropriate for people who are in a crisis situation. We hope you will consider using some of these resources to get the help you deserve.” I mean I get it but I don’t. What kind of therapy service is not open to helping people who really need it? I’ve called crisis lines in the past when I was really feeling that way and it helps for about 20 minutes.
This just seems wrong to me. I guess I could do the questions again and just lie but I don’t really want to. Am I crazy or is that just a shitty response to somebody who might actually be in a crisis and desperately needing a therapist?
