Car deal gone wrong

I live in north carolina and bought a car that seemed fine. Upon attempting to inspect it for title transfer and to be able to put license plates on it, I was told the airbag light was on and all of a sudden none of the brake lights work. Obviously car won't pass inspection, so I can't change the title to my name or plate it. The guy didn't disclose the accident, didn't give me a damage report, and the title was signed by a notary, explicitly stating that they were not informed of any accident to the car. Is there anything I can do?
