17.4’ deep & 13 wide? I’m starting on mine and I’m similar in size. How big is your screen and how far is your projector & seating if I may ask.
Correct, 17.4' deep. Screen is 8" off the front wall. Front row seat backs 10' from the screen. Screen is 126" wide. Projector throw distance is somewhere in the 14-15ft range.
Your scope screen is 126”? So that would make your 16:9 screen 94” (108” diagonal)?
Indeed! At least for constant image height presentation with the masking panels in place. I can fit a 129" diagonal 16:9 image in the full 63" height of my screen. For IMAX stuff in 16:9, I'll use the entire 2:1 screen and blank a bit of the image on the top and bottom.
I guess I’m confused. If your screen is 63” (height), then your width would be 148”, not 126”. Correct?
scope screens looks so gangster
Agreed! But you don't have to be locked into any single aspect ratio with some simple masking panels.
Amazing room
Amazing!
Looks great! How did you hang the acoustic panels from the ceiling?
Thank you! The acoustic panels are screwed into the ceiling with black angle brackets and the height speakers are hung with flush mount vesa mounts.
Very nice!
Upvote for Wolfpack!
Great theater!
Go pack!
I grew up in Cary/Raleigh. Go pack indeed !
Very nice!
Very well executed. Some simple and effective choices I really liked here: Grimani’s alternating diffusion/absorption, deep blue flat wall color (very nice choice), giving a choice of either loveseat or single seat in both rows, huge scope screen.
Good catch on the loveseat + single seat. Ability to cuddle was a design requirement! Surround wires are run in the wall down to the baseboard and then all wires are running along the baseboard in black cable sleeve. It's not the absolute cleanest, but it disappears into the black trim with the lights down low.
I appreciate the rack here. Functionality-wise it does its job perfect with the power strips and all. Meanwhile it is significantly cheaper than a AV rack with some power conditioning power strip. Functionally it's the same. It is hidden anyway and you get to spend more where it matters.
Also good thickness on the acoustic panels and even some varying shapes. Looks really good.
Exactly. I couldn't bring myself to spend as much as it would cost to do a real rack. The wire shelves are plenty sturdy, offer good airflow, and you can easily tie wires down anywhere. This is actually two cheap kits put together for additional shelf count in the allotted height.
I have nothing to say other than what a fantastic room and I wish it were mine. Great choices all around.
Thank you! I'm excited to see what you put together in the future :)
Go Panthers!
My fellow Arendal brother
I'm still waiting for chapter 3!
Love it! For the separate amp, what speakers is that driving?
Where’s the 3rd sub located and why did you go with a different brand vs HSU.
How you liking those speakers? Seen them advertised but your the first I’ve seen in a setup.
Looks amazing, cool setup 😍
Thank you!
Advocate of the devil, why not complete this amazing setup with a PS5 😁👍🏼
The PS5 primarily belongs to my wife, who prefers to play in the living room. I am tempted to add a 2nd...
I feel you bro… But with a setup like this you basically have no other choice 😅
