Spring semester start

So I applied for spring semester cause I’ve taken somewhat of a gap semester right out of high school for family reasons- how different is it to start in the spring vs fall? How difficult will it be to get housing? Also general questions like what’s the social scene like compared to other uni in the area… I’m asking these questions prior to a response from admissions cause I’m rather confident- 3.9 gpa in hs and good application all around (not trying to sound braggy)
