have any of you seen anything remotely similar to what wedding stories on AITAs tell?

Siri Yuss Discussion

im not from the US, so there might be cultural differences at play here, but i honestly can't understand many of the wedding dramas that pop up on reddit all the time (and i'm honestly pretty tired of them as those are some of the most common ones lol)

i get that weddings are really important for a lot of people and the idea of someone you care about not going and things not turning out the way you wanted them to will inevitably hurt but ive seen so many posts in which someone gets cartoonishly angry over things like not being invited to the wedding of some relative OP hasn't talked to in a decade or because SO wasnt invited or because someone was literally unable to go for whatever actually valid reason that at some point i cant help but wonder if these things even happen in real life

i dont know, i have cousins who i didnt know were even married until many months later and both me and my family have missed a lot of weddings and yet ive never seen this kind of dramas unfold. nobody is angry about it and we get along just fine

admittedly, ive never been married myself (im 21, i dont even think i should be married at this age) and i very rarely get invited to weddings at all so i dont have much experience with this topic, so i wanna know if any of you have seen this kind of dramas actually happen irl or if i just dont know enough about this to have an opinion
