good experiences with pre-orders?

So, placed an order to pick up, at a local dispo last night. Got the text that the order was ready.

Drove to pick it up, and spent almost 15 minutes, only customer, watching this little fella just wander back and forth thru the security door, no explanation. there's my bag, there goes my bag, the bag is full, the bag is empty..... I indicated it was not going smoothly (exact words) and they spent several more minutes admonishing me for speaking to them that way, and I would not speak to my pharmacist this way, and.....

Any similar experiences? makes you wonder why you bother to pre-order? Any budtender ever compare themselves to your pharmacist, while standing by the tip jar in a patchouli funk?
