CompanionDeviceManager: Is it better than using framework bluetooth LE APIs?

Has anyone tried using CompanionDeviceManager instead of Bluetooth APIs or libraries such as Nordic BLE or Blessed etc?

Are there in advantages in regards to connection or discovery?
