I keep getting error messages when downloading games

I have a seagate extended hdd and a ps4. When im downloading a game it says data corrupted and that i need to rebuild my database so i do that. I pull out my hdd using that thing that says “stop using extended hdd” and rebuild my database. When im plugging my hdd back in it says this device was disconnected wrong and a message following repair this device. When i repair it it says ”cannot repair the extended storage “ and I need to format it again. When I format it again it says that its good to go but when im downloading my games again it says there is corrupted data and the cycle repeats. PLS HELP ME
