Prayer and our soul

Hi practicing Muslim here. Was with some elderly and they were talking about prayers. They asked me when I pray, do my soul pray? When we enter Jannah, our souls are the one enter Jannah and not our jasad(body) as it is temporary. So when we pray, its our body, but do our soul pray?

Can anyone understand this and if yes explain please? Just got back from work and got thrown this question and im just like 😐😐😐 in my head
