visited a house with a bad flea infestation and accidentally brought some home. what now?

hi there. yesterday, my fiancé and i went to go see a house for sale that ended up being a former dog hoarders’ home. it was absolutely infested with fleas. we both noticed several on us (like 20+ on him) which we did our best to get off of us.

we drove home, instantly took our clothes off and dried them on high heat, then washed them on high heat and repeat, and we both showered.

today, he noticed another one on him (when we went to my parents house, in a different car than either of us had driven in to/from the flea house).

we’re vacuuming and washing everything, and getting our indoor cat back on preventative flea medicine first thing tomorrow morning. i’ve dealt with a flea infestation before and it was a nightmare.

what else should we do to try to keep this from becoming a full blown infestation?
