Gone Home is a tale of its own (Spoiler-free review)

Just gave this game a shot and it's fair to say that I'll be having another walkthrough to review its plot and story. In this post, I'll be going over the basics like story telling, the environment and the cherry on the cake, the atmosphere.

Storytelling
There's mainly two ways the game conveys the story to you; voice-over diary readings and reading documents, letters, postcards, etc. This is a great form of storytelling as it gives you the choice to take in any amount of information you desire.

Environment
You can't tell a story without having an environment to support the plot. The whole thing's pretty simple; just an empty home in a thunderstorm. Any more than that is something that you'll need to find out on your own. Why, you ask? It's because of the atmosphere.

Atmosphere
It's an empty home. You can hear the rain and the thunder. I had a goosebump every time I heard the lightning roar outside the house. Mix that in with the voice-acting and you get something that isn't done by many. You can walk around one room for 15 minutes and still feel the same vibe you felt when you first entered that room.

Overall, I enjoyed the game and only regret that I can't play it for the first time again. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but this is as close as you can get to a 10/10 game for me. Definity worth all of your time spent playing this.
