My husband (31M) told me (32F) that he attempted to rape a girl when he was in college?

A few days ago, I started receiving some messages saying that my husband was a rapist. They didn’t give more details. I asked him was going on and yesterday he told me that when he was in college (12 years ago, he was 19 at that time) he tried to have sex with a girl who was unconscious for drinking, he didn’t rape her because one of his friends got in to the room and he kicked him out (but it was his intention). He has been a really loving, caring, and nice man with me and I barley can believe that this happened. We’ve been married for 1 year and we’re going to have a big wedding celebration in just 2 month (we have everything ready). I’m in shock and I don’t know what to do. He looks truly sorry and he didn’t justify or denied his actions. I’m so in love with him and I’d like to believe that he’s a better person, and that this is not going to happen ever again, but I’m also scared and I can’t tolerate the fact that I’m married with a person who did this. What should I do? Should I divorce?
