Something Ive noticed with online dating…

I (36M) use dating apps fairly often. I find it to be easier since my circle of friends is very smal and I dont like to go to bars to meet women. Something Ive noticed tho is how nonchalant women are when I begin conversing with them. Most of the time they do little if anything to move the conversation forward. Il ask a question or Il say something then they answer and dont say anything else. Usualy after mesaging them once or twice and they do this I just stop talking to them. Women Ive matched with that Ive become romanticaly involved with are always more engaging. Am I giving up too early in these situations Should I put more efort into it I dont like to waste time if a woman expreses little interest.
