Anyone make their own chicken coop?

The wife and I are going to get about 6 hens for pets/eggs next spring. I need to build a coop, as I just can't stand the idea of buying one at the store that I could easily make myself for twice the cost. Has anyone made their own as well?

Ive been gathering some supplies lately, and think I'm going overboard. I'm trying to attempt to build it all out of recycled wood, as I'm able to find a lot of stuff on jobsites I have to visit for work.

I picked up some rough cut 4x4's that came from shipping drain pipe. I've also got some 6' privacy fence panels that I've disassembled that I think should work nice for the outside walls. And 2 rolls of 2' by 100' 1/2" welded wire

Looking for ideas on how big I should actually go with this, and perhaps some design ideas.
