Curtains for dust mite allergies

I have dust mite allergies. Which type of curtain material should I use in blackout curtains for my room? Currently, I have 100% polyester curtains that I believe are triggering my allergies. Even after washing them, my nose still itches when I get close to them. Could cotton be a better option?
I cannot use blinds in my room. Unfortunately, curtains are the only option, as my window measures W95 inches x H110 inches (yes, it's a large window), and it's a rental apartment. Curtains are the easier and more affordable choice in this situation
