Blocked [Online Relationship Story]

We were only a few weeks. It was sweet. I didn't expect much when we started but it felt like I was on cloud nine. I met him online, not really the best place to find love or a relationship. Heck, you can call me out as foolish for taking online relationships a bit seriously, not to mention a long-distance one. In fact, I was being casual about it for the most part and was really happy about it being just a friend or some fling. But when the person just listens to you, grounds you when you're talking shit to yourself, and basically gives you his time of day, you can't help but say yes when they ask you to be his boyfriend.

I don't really know what happened. Maybe he got tired of me. Maybe I was taking our relationship too seriously than what he wanted. Maybe he saw red flags in the way I acted. But a part of me, really hated how he broke things off. To ghosted me for an entire day before cutting me out of his life without an explanation. At this point, I don't really want us to be together anymore. I'm a romantic but I'm not some desperate puppy who's going to follow someone to the ends of time like a yandere or an attention-starved idiot.

I tried my best in our relationship and I guess he just didn't have it in him to do the same. But the only regret I had was that I couldn't even say goodbye or hear anything from him before he disappeared from my life. Because maybe then, I wouldn't have to spend the next several hours feeling a lot of pain. Anger, disappointment, and sadness. Because he really wanted to break up and not talk again, I would've given it to him. All he had to do was tell me. Hell, he could've just left a little text like "Sorry, I'm breaking up with you" and then blocked me, and then that would've been some closure. But then again, I knew what I was in for and got what was expected. Just didn't expect it to really happen so fast and he didn't seem like the type of guy either.

Maybe this post is just me ranting about my depressing failure of a relationship... but it was the first one I really committed to a guy. And it hurts a lot. More than I wanted to.

So here's the time to ask some questions. Was I being a sucker and setting myself up for some boundless expectation and could've avoided the days of self-pity, regret, and heartache if I just said no to being boyfriends and remained friends instead?
