If Logan hadn’t mentioned “NRPI” during their conversation in “This Is Not for Tears” Kendall would have gone to prison willingly
You can see Jeremy Strong’s demeanor physically change. Before now we hadn’t heard Logan’s views about the kid’s death. Before now Logan also had slightly more plausible deniability for the atrocities committed in cruises. After Kendall’s line, “Maybe I deserve it” (referring to his role in the waiter’s death at Shiv’s wedding) Logan responds with “Nah, nahnahnahnahh; NRPI. You’re the best” and proceeds to expound on how not-a big-deal it was. Kendall realizes his father was the originator of this heinous mindset in the company. He leans in and gives his father a kiss on the cheek (Judas) Kendall goes on to betray his father during the press conference and says, “My father is a malignant presence” and I believe he feels this genuinely. Before Logan revealed his true malignancy, Kendall was ready to accept his fate as the sacrificial lamb. Previously I had thought he betrayed his father mostly to prove his “killer instinct”
