Cutting it close with skilled worker visa - biometrics?

Hey all, my graduate visa expires in about two weeks. I’m applying for the 3yr skilled worker visa. Only reason I haven’t applied yet is because it’s taken ages for my employment to acquire their sponsorship license (I’m talking months). While I should be able to apply for the visa in time, I’ll be cutting it close.

I know I’m allowed to stay after my visa expires if I’m waiting on a decision. But does the skilled worker visa require a biometrics appointment? I’m not sure if I could submit the application and do the appointment before my visa expires, bc if it’s anything like when I was getting my tier 4 visa it took ages to get an appointment.

Would be applying before my expiry date but doing the biometrics after affect my visa approval? I’m freaking tf out
